Razer Blade Pro 17 2020 Review – Price, Specs, & Launched In Nepal: The beast is here!

razer blade pro 17 2020

In this razer blade pro 17 2020 article we’ll discuss the features, in-depth reviews, specifications, and how much would it cost in Nepal (not exactly but roughly) and globally.

The Razer company has been in the computer business for 22 years and is very famous for developing extremely powerful gaming hardware, software, and services.

This year it came up with the latest model of a gaming laptop called Razer blade pro-2020.

Since the launch, the laptop has been rocking the boat. It comes with some of the best specs and hardware which we will talk about in this blog along with its expected price in Nepal.

Design and display

Every gaming laptop needs to look like a beast and razor blade pro 17 is no exception.

With ebony black chassis color and the tri-headed snake logo on the back, it is one of the most stylish devices currently in the market.

And something that I find beautiful in its design is the customizable RGB lighting keyboard whose every key is lit with the help of Razer Chroma.

Razer blade pro 17 has a different bottom case design as compared to other laptops because the speakers are mounted on either side of the keyboard.

In addition to design, the aluminum body adds toughness to the device and matte finish makes it almost immune to scratches.

While many gaming laptops usually have a 15 inch screen, razor went a step ahead to provide best experience for hardcore gamers by making the screen of every model 17.3-inch.

This is a major step taken by the brand to provide a desktop-like gaming experience on a laptop.

Another spectacular feature is the 300hz screen, unfortunately, it is only limited to 1080p(or 1920 x 1080 resolution) models.

You’ll need to compromise with the refresh rate if you want a 4k(or 3840 x 2160 resolution) screen as it serves only 120 Hz.

On top of that, the 4k models also have multi-touch technology. If you’re a hardcore gamer then you should go with the former model and if you’re willing to do other kinds of stuff then the latter will suit you the best.

Performance and Memory

With 10 Gen Intel Core i7 – 10875H processor packed in this device, you don’t need to worry about the speed.

Seeing the competition on the market, Razer has finally launched a laptop with an 8-core processor that serves turbo boost speed of up to 5.1 GHz and 16 MB cache storage.

The GUI of razer blade pro 17 has 15% faster speed, ray tracing technology and AI which is only possible due to the latest NVIDIA GeForce RTX SUPER graphics.

However, Razer blade 17 pro also gives you a base graphics card option of RTX 2080 Super Max-Q.

With such a powerful CPU and GPU, the company claims that this latest model can run AAA games without any trouble.

When you buy this beast, you will get the 16 GB of upgradable DDR4 RAM along with a SSD of 512GB and 1TB, for a 300Hz and 120Hz variant.

If you think that this storage is not enough then you can even expand the storage of both the models to up to 2TB with the help of an M.2 slot.

Vapour chamber cooling system

Usually this type of technology is found on almost every gaming laptop these days. The powerful processor and GPU are mostly responsible for heating the device which is then reduced by using a cooling system.

Razer blade pro 17 is designed with dual-fans, and a vapour chamber whose main job is to create an airflow in the device, to dissipate heat out of the chassis.

Another advantage is that it doesn’t let heat reach the main components which increase the life of the device. But it’s cooling system is not as good as the Asus TUF A15 and Alienware M15 R3 as you can still feel the heat on your palm rest.

Keyboard and Touchpad

The RGB lighting keyboard performs great while fast typing and the removal of the numpad creates more space which leads to a larger right shift key.

You can be more creative and design your own backlighting on individual keys with the help of Razer Synapse 3 software that will let you fully customize the keyboard with up to 16.8 million colors and different lighting effects.

A company whose first device was a gaming mouse can never make a bad trackpad.

The glass trackpad has a smooth touch and is better than we expected because not many gaming laptops give more attention to a trackpad as many gamers prefer to use an external mouse.

The trackpad is so good that some websites have even compared it to a trackpad of a mac. Whether you use them or not, It’s always good to have better hardware.

Weight

Even though razer blade pro 17 is almost 25% smaller than its precursor, it still weighs around 6.06 lbs(2.74877 kg) which is enough to give you a back pain when you carry this thing around for a long time in a backpack.

Ports

The connectivity options provided by Razer blade pro 17 is great for both gaming and working.

The nine ports are divided into the left and right sides of the laptop. On the left, you’ll see USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports and a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port, 3.5 MM headphone/microphone port, 2.5GB ethernet port, and a power port.

The right panel contains USB-A 3.2 GEN 2 (TYPE-A) port, 1x Thunderbolt 3, HDMI 2.0B, and SD card reader along with a Kensington lock.

Battery Life

The battery is drained quickly mostly by CPU and GPU so to save the battery it comes with Nvidia Optimus feature that automatically switches off the GPU when it’s not needed.

Even without the Nvidia Optimus, the battery is quite powerful as it took slightly more than 4 hours to be empty(when we opened multiple browser tabs on high brightness).

Upgradeability

The fact that you can upgrade the RAM and storage, up to 64GB and 2TB respectively, already makes me super happy. And in addition to that, the feature to extend the graphics card by adding an extra GPU via Thunderbolt 3 port is like a cherry on top.

With an upgraded RAM, storage and GPU, gaming will be faster and realistic. Also, you can add multiple monitors via USB ports.

Speakers

The two speakers mounted on the either side of the keyboard are quite loud and clear.

When I played “Love of my life” by Queen band, I clearly heard “Freddy’s” vocal along with the audience’s voices that made me feel as if I was present in the concert.

But the speakers are even better while gaming because you can hear background music as well as people chattering in the distance, gunshots, and the blowing wind.

Price and Availability of Razer Blade Pro 17 in Nepal

The cost of Razer Blade Pro 17 is quite expensive in Nepal. As we all know, more specs and features mean more price so while the base variants are available at $2,599, top-end models are sold at $3,799. As of Nepal, this means the prices will start at NPR 3,65,000 and reach up to NPR 5,25,000 approx for top-end models respectively.

Razer Blade Pro 17 is yet not available in the Nepalese market and we expect it to arrive at the end of this year 2020.
