The only good thing this year is going to be the launch of the brand new member in the family of iPhones. These new smartphones will be far more better than their successors.
Like always, the iPhone will launch multiple mobiles with different ranges. Apple is likely to release four models: iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Max, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max.
Just like other releases, the first phone of 12 series is going to be cheaper than the others. It is rumored that the handsets will come in varieties of color depending upon the iPhone model.
And the phone’s release date will also be different from one another. This means that the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Max may be released a month earlier than iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max.
The company has not stated any information about the phones but we can do expert speculation on the basis of rumors and leaks.
iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Max
They will be the latest phone in the iPhone series which will have a better camera, RAM and latest chipset along with a different design than the recent models of the handset.
Pricing varies for each model however there’s not much of a difference between 12 and 12 Max.
Display and Design
The design of the iPhone 12 is the same as the older phones manufactured by the company. Meaning, it has flat sides and squared-off corners instead of the curvy design that we’ve been seeing since the iPhone 6 design.
The screen resolution of 1125 x 2436 pixels helps to create sharper images. The 3D touch touchscreen provides easy access to the most used functions.
Along with the Multi-touch feature. In order to make it look shiny and provide toughness, the body is made up of aluminum. The screen size of 5.4 inches is quite small as compared with many smartphones at this price.
However, the Super Retina OLED (BOE) will offer high contrast, high dynamic range, wide color support, more brightness, and extreme resolution to the display.
Along with all that, iPhone 12 is dustproof and can resist water for 30 minutes in 4 meters depth.
iPhone 12 Max is the upgraded version of the iPhone 12 with a bigger screen size of 6.1 inches. It also has a Super Retina OLED (BOE) display just like its predecessor.
The fully aluminium armoured shiny body makes the phone lighter than metal and tougher than a plastic body.
Likewise, aluminum can be recycled making apple products environmentally friendly and it helps to manage the heat which may damage the phone. All other designs and display features are the same as the iPhone 12.
Price
We all know that iPhones are more expensive than many other smartphones available in the market. With all these features and the brand names of Apple, the price of iPhone 12 is speculated to be approximately $699 in the US(Unofficial). Although, the cost may vary according to the country.
On the other hand, because there’s not much of a difference in between both the phones except screen size and battery.
The price of the iPhone 12 max is just 100 dollars more than the iPhone 12 which means it’ll be sold at the price of $799. And according to me, iPhone 12 Max is a better option than iPhone 12 as it’s just 100 bucks more than it’s an identical cousin.
Battery
iPhones have always been criticized for their lower battery capacity. And it is very disappointing that iPhone 12 follows the same track.
Although Apple could make the battery stronger, the company won’t do it, and if the brand does that they launch it as a different model with a higher price. So speaking about the battery of the iPhone 12, it is only 2,227 mAh.
Even though iPhone 12 Max has a stronger battery capacity than the previous model, it is not much next to the newly launched Xiaomi Mi 10 ultra. The non-replaceable lithium-ion battery is approximately 2,775 mAh.
Storage
The iPhone provides a large storage capacity like many smartphones these days. Both the phones, iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Max come with three storage variants- 64GB, 128GB and 256GB.
If you choose to go with more storage then you might have to spend a few hundred extra bucks. Likewise, the pair have a pretty powerful RAM capacity of 4 GB which will let you use heavy games and applications without any interruption.
Cameras
One feature that sets iPhone apart from its competitors is their highly powerful cameras.
According to some of the pictures leaked on the internet, the iPhone12 and iPhone 12 Max seem to have been mounted with dual cameras.
These cameras will have a 7-element lens, which will provide higher image quality, whereas iPhone 11 had only a 6-element lens.
As of today, the camera megapixel of iPhone 12 and 12 Max is still unknown because there have been no official reports from Apple itself.
Speed Features
If the rumours are true then Apple will be launching 5G with iPhone 12 series. It is said that the phones are fitted with an in-built 5G antenna that will lead iPhone 12 to reach 5G speed.
But, it is still unknown if Apple will charge extra for these 5G models or if they’re only available for higher versions of the series like iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max.
Whether 5G or not, the phones will definitely have a 4G connection.
Apple is once again coming with a very powerful processor which will definitely affect the CPU performance making the phone even faster.
The company also claims that the newly developed A14 Bionic chipset will increase CPU and GPU performance by whooping 40% and 50% respectively, as compared with the old A13 processor.
Talking about the speed, new iPhones will come with 802.11ay specification which will make photos and videos sharing 20-30 Gbps faster.
Release date
Seeing the last few releases of iPhones, we suspected that these new bad boys may get a launch date in September 2020 and Apple has also scheduled a new event on September 15th in their youtube channel.
However, there are rumors that this event is only for Apple Watch 6 and iPad Air 4.
That’s why you should expect a delay of a few weeks at the launch of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Max.
The new release date of these handsets may get shifted to October 12 but it’s Monday and the company usually launches its phones on Tuesday.
The final release date of the iPhone 12 can be on October 13, 2020. And pre-orders will be open on the same week of the launch.
iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max
These two smartphones are far more superior to other handsets in the iPhone 12 series. High-quality Ram, display, storage, camera, 5G, battery, and body makes them a bit costly and most advanced iPhones.
Display and Design
Developed by Samsung, Super Retina XDR OLED display can support HDR10 that will provide more brightness and vibrant colors to the display.
A similar type of display was used in the S10 series manufactured by Samsung.
Apple saved it’s most advanced display technology especially for iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max.
Although both the phones have the same display type, the screen size of one phone is bigger than the other.
While iPhone 12 Pro has screen size the same as the iPhone 12 Max which is exactly 6.1-inch, iPhone 12 Pro Max has a larger screen size of 6.7-inch.
It even surpasses the display size of the iPhone 11 XS Max, which is 6.5 inches, making it the largest smartphone display size ever created by Apple. Some rumors also suggest that these phones will have 120Hz of refresh rate.
It is a great initiative by Apple as many smartphones still serve only 60Hz of refresh rate.
We guess that if this feature debuts in iPhones then it may come with iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max because they’re the top level phones of the series.
But the display supply chain expert said that this very high refresh rate won’t be arriving this year as none of them are aware of it. That’s why there is no confirmed news about this topic.
Price
Different websites have mentioned different retail prices of iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 pro Max. That’s why I did some research and looked at the starting price of older iPhones.
When the iPhone 11 Pro Max was released it’s selling price was $1,099. So, I think both 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max will come at the same range as iPhone 11 Pro Max.
According to me, the iPhone 12 Pro’s prices will vary on the basis of storage you want to buy. The 128GB variant will come with a price of $999, 256GB with $1,099 and 512GB with $1,299.
Likewise, the more modern handset, which is iPhone 12 Pro Max, will be sold at the price of $1,099 for 128GB, $1,199 for 256GB, and $1,399 for 512GB.
Battery
Battery capacity in higher level iPhones are pretty good as compared with less costly models. So the iPhone 12 Pro has 2,775 mAh of battery.
Unfortunately, Apple didn’t upgrade the battery for this model and it is the same as the battery power of the iPhone 12 Max.
However, it doesn’t mean that Apple cannot produce powerful batteries for its cellphone. The iPhone 12 Pro Max provides the maximum battery power of 3,687 mAh.
With this much battery power, now you can enjoy using this beast for as long as you want. And if the 120Hz of refresh rate rumor is true then playing heavy games smoothly for a longer period of time will be more achievable.
Storage
The iPhone is extremely good at capturing photos and videos in high quality which results in larger file size. So to make the phone experience more comfortable, Apple provides a huge range of storage options.
iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max are the same in case of storage. They both will come in three different variants 128GB, 256GB and 512GB. As I mentioned earlier, the prices will be different for each of the variants.
These phones may also come with a very powerful RAM capacity of 6 GB which is more than other phones in the iPhone 12 series.
This powerful RAM will increase the speed of the device as it helps apps to store and access data quickly.
Cameras
Like I said earlier, the iPhone is a great handset for taking beautiful pictures. Unlike older models in iPhone 12 series, both 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max are mounted with Triple rear cameras with a feature of night mode.
Every camera has different functions to perform. While one can shoot wide shots, the other can click telephoto pictures and the first camera on the right-hand side can take ultra-wide shots.
Some rumors also claim that iPhone 12 might have a 64 MP main camera.
Not only that, they will also have a LiDAR sensor (also known as Light Detection and Ranging) whose main function is to measure image depth and reflection.
The LiDAR scanner will increase the photographing experience even more.
There’s not much information about the selfie camera but if the iPhone is updating the rear camera then they must have thought something about the front-facing camera as well.
5G
A leaked rumor about the iPhone 12 series claims that they might come with 5G technology. It may also come with two different frequencies-Sub-6GHz and mmWave.
Maybe Apple will categorize them and sell each of them at a different price but we can’t guarantee anything about that. Whether it is Sub-6GHz or mmWave, the phones will run faster if they support 5G.
Release date
iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max may get released shortly after the release of iPhone 12 and 12 Max. According to some suppliers in china, they might not be launched until November.
One thing that I am sure about is that these phones will hit the market before the end of this year as Apple can’t risk a further delay.
